Sweetie Pie Organics Review + Giveaway

When it comes to food I become a bit manic. The majority of the food we eat is organic and quite a bit of that is locally grown/sourced. Putting real and healthful foods into my and my kids bodies is one of my top priorities and I take pride in that.
But for as much good stuff that I buy and make there is not as many great snack products on the market for toddlers. You can only eat so many puffed corn or dry cereal foods before getting bored, am I right?!
They do just about anything to get their hands on some yummy snacks.
Especially now that we are getting into a busy season of life, I needed to find convenient, healthy snacks that my girls liked that would keep them happy and occupied during car rides or in between meals.
Just look at that happy face!
Well, I'm happy to report I have found that snack! Enter Sweetie Pie Organics. Makers of organic, healthy snacks just for toddlers. Real foods made snackable! (I swear I should be in marketing ;)

Both Brielana and Kinsey love the beets and apple tiny wafers and the freeze-dried mixes. Shoot, I like them myself! You can really taste the fruits and vegetables in each snack. Sweetie Pie also makes lactation smoothies (tastes like pear, super yummy) for all you nursing mamas. You can purchase Sweetie Pie Organics on their website, through Amazon and at local chains such as Whole Foods Market and (surprisingly) Albertsons.
And now you have the chance to try Sweetie Pie Organic Tiny Wafers for yourself, er, your child! Just enter the Rafflecopter below! Giveaway is open to US residents only and runs from Wednesday, August 17th through Wednesday, August 24th. Winner will be announced Wednesday, August 24th via email. Good luck!

Brielana's Bites + Giveaway

I realized I hadn't done a Brielana's Bites post in awhile (forgive me) so to make up for it, I'm having a little giveaway! Just scroll to the end if you're impatient ;)

Our highlighted meals included:
1// a deconstructed meatball sub using meatless meatballs
check out those fork skills!
2// vegetable soup (with the broth drained so she can feed herself) and a grilled cheese sandwich
3// a jelly sandwich, black olives and apples slices with peanut butter
4// roasted brussel's sprouts, pasta and chicken cordon bleu with marinara sauce

Brielana is still the most adventurous eater and I contribute it to Baby Led Weaning, all the way. The first resource I found was Brittany's blog and I loved her book, A Mom's Practical Guide to baby-Led Weaning so I'm giving one away! Just fill out the Rafflecopter below. Good luck! Contest runs from Tuesday, December the 15th through Monday the 21st. Open to US Residents only.

Brielana's Bites: Summer fruits

Summer has the best fruits in season and we took advantage of it!  From berries to stone fruits, Brielana loved every sweet, juicy bite.  She actually will always start her meals by eating her fruit first, regardless of what kind it is.

Peaches, cheese quesadilla, mixed olives

Baby corn, halved purple grapes, potato pancake.

Black beans, quesadilla, blueberries

Water crackers, tuna salad (mayo, celery, pickle) sliced cheese, strawberries

Steamed broccoli, spaghetti and marinara, frozen petite peas (loves these while teething!)

Looking forward to Fall and the overabundance of squash, pumpkins, pears and satsumas!

Brielana Bites: Hits and Misses

As great of an eater as Brielana is, there are still some meals/foods she prefers over others.  The girl loves her some fruit, any fruit and enjoys most vegetables and beans but only likes meat/chicken in moderation (but digs fish).  Here are a few  meals that were hits and misses:
{Hits}
Hit #1:
sliced and peeled apples, chicken fingers and cheddar cheese sticks.  Her face doesn't look happy, but that's because she's thinking, "where's more?" ;)

Hit #2:
halved cherry tomatoes, cannellini beans, black olives, tuna, hard boiled egg.

Hit #3:
Sliced peaches and cheese quesadilla (and ok, you caught me, a few olives!)

Hit #4:
Sliced plums, macaroni and cheese, frozen peas and not pictured, halved cherry tomatoes.

{Misses}

Miss #1:
Homemade cheese pizza with assorted black and green olives. Don't let the empty tray fool you, she threw everything to the dog.  Well, actually she ate most of the olives, she just wasn't feeling the thick wheat crust of the pizza (my girls are not bread-eaters.  Shocking, I know.)

Miss #2:
Homemade meat sauce with zucchini and raviolis.  She pretty much just smeared everything around.  Though she did eat a lot of the sauce.

Miss #3:
Breakfast of scrambled eggs with zucchini and halved tomatoes and a slice of LaBrea Bakery cheese bread.  Usually she loves eggs, so I chalk this "miss" up to the fact she's cutting 4 molars.

What has been a hit or miss with your little Nugget lately?
And enter here to win a Your Little Loves creation!
